Reading of ‘God Is Not Shy’ by Olga Grjasnowa at Studio Я, 31st March 2017

March 29, 2017

Olga Grjasnowa’s new novel ‘God Is Not Shy’ tells of Amal and Hammoudi. Young, beautiful and privileged, they believe in the revolution in Syria. However, two years later, actress Amal finds herself on the ocean where she saves a baby because the cargo ship on which she was to be smuggled to Europe has sunk. The physician Hammoudi has just secured a job at the best hospital in Paris. He also loses everything when he goes to Damascus to take care of the last formalities. When they meet in Berlin, they have to start all over again. Together with Mehmet Ateci and Lea Dreager, we read excerpts and talk with the author about her new novel.
